The short version
RetroFrame is designed as a private memory journal. We do not operate an account system, advertising network, analytics service, or our own server for your memories. We do not sell personal data or track you across apps and websites.
Your memory content stays on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud database managed by Apple.
Who is responsible
The data controller for RetroFrame is Emre Dumbo, based in Türkiye. Privacy and support questions can be sent to retroframe.support@gmail.com.
Information you choose to save
A RetroFrame memory may contain:
- a photo you select;
- a mood, short note, and date; and
- an optional place name and precise location, only when you choose to save a place.
This information is used only to provide the journal, logbook, memory map, achievements, widgets, and related features inside RetroFrame.
Storage and private iCloud sync
RetroFrame stores memories locally using Apple’s on-device data technologies. If you are signed into iCloud and iCloud is available for RetroFrame, the app uses Apple CloudKit to synchronize that data through your private iCloud database.
The developer does not have a dashboard or server that can browse your private memory content. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
Photos and location
Photos. RetroFrame uses Apple’s system photo picker so you can choose a photo. The app receives only the item you select; it does not need unrestricted access to your complete photo library.
Location. Location is optional and requested only while you use the app. If you enable “save this place,” RetroFrame uses your current location to attach a place to that memory and show it on your private memory map. RetroFrame does not perform background location tracking.
Face ID, reminders, and widgets
Face ID. If you enable app lock, authentication is performed by iOS. RetroFrame receives only the authentication result and never receives or stores biometric data.
Reminders. If enabled, reminder settings are used to schedule local notifications on your device. They are not used for advertising.
Widgets. Showing photos in widgets is optional and disabled by default. If enabled, RetroFrame creates a resized copy of the relevant photo in the app’s shared App Group storage so the widget extension can display it. This shared copy stays within RetroFrame’s app container.
Support communications
If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message. We use that information only to answer your request, troubleshoot the app, and maintain necessary support records. Please do not send private photos or sensitive information. Support messages are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
Optional permissions and features are activated at your request and can be withdrawn in RetroFrame or iPhone Settings. Where applicable, support communications are handled to respond to your request and for the legitimate interest of operating and improving support.
Third parties and tracking
RetroFrame does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics. The app relies on Apple platform services such as iCloud/CloudKit, Photos, Maps, notifications, Face ID, App Store distribution, and TestFlight where applicable.
Deletion and retention
You can delete individual memories or all memories from within RetroFrame. When private iCloud sync is active, deletions are also synchronized to CloudKit. Removing the app deletes its local data, but data already stored in your private iCloud database may return after reinstalling the app with the same Apple Account until it is deleted through the app.
Your choices and security
You can decline location, photo selection, notification, widget-photo, and Face ID features. You can also change system permissions in iPhone Settings. RetroFrame uses Apple’s security controls and private CloudKit storage, but no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

We may update this policy when RetroFrame changes. The updated effective date will appear at the top of this page. If the controller’s location or contact details change, this page will be updated. Questions about privacy or the app can be sent to retroframe.support@gmail.com.
