COMMON QUESTIONS

A tiny guide

Where are my memories stored?

RetroFrame keeps your memories on your device. If iCloud is available, they also sync through your private iCloud database so they can be restored on devices using the same Apple Account.

Why is a photo not appearing in the widget?

Widget photos are optional and disabled by default. Open RetroFrame Settings and enable photos in widgets. If a widget is already on your Home Screen, it may need a short moment to refresh.

Why can’t RetroFrame find my location?

Location is always optional. Check that Location Services are enabled for RetroFrame in iPhone Settings, then turn on “save this place” while adding a frame.

How do I change or disable the reminder?

Open RetroFrame Settings, then use the reminder controls. You can choose a time or turn reminders off completely. iPhone notification permission must also be enabled.

What happens if I delete a memory?

Deleting a memory removes it from the app and, when iCloud sync is enabled, from your private CloudKit data. This action cannot be undone.

Does Face ID give RetroFrame my face data?

No. Face ID is handled entirely by iOS. RetroFrame only receives whether authentication succeeded or failed.
